Alcatraz Security & Investigation Agency, Inc. (ASIA) was organized in March 19, 1995 in accordance with the Private Security Agency Law otherwise known as RA 5487. It is now being managed and operated by a set of officers who have risen through the ranks and who are Certified Security Professionals (CSP).

To ensure quality service from each member of ALCATRAZ, the following performance evaluation rating sheets/system shall be accomplished and submitted to the management on a regular basis:

1.) PERFORMANCE EVALUATION RATING Detachment Commanders shall accomplish the performance evaluation of each security guard on a monthly basis. Results shall then be routed to the various clients for notation, and forwarded to ALCATRAZ management.

2.) SERVICE EVALUATION RATING ALCATRAZ shall also be requested to evaluate the performance/service of all its security guards with the use of the SER Form on a quarterly basis. This rating shall be computed on the following criteria: Interest and attention to duty, Obedience, compliance to instructions, Public and customer relations, Mental ability, Personal appearance, Personal traits, Knowledge of the job, Reliability and efficiency, Initiative, Cooperation, Honesty and integrity, Alertness and Attendance.

Training Program

To continuously upgrade and professionalize employee’s competence and improve work attitude of security person, the company has implemented training and capability building programs aim at achieving the following target objectives:

• Equip the guards with basic security procedures, duties and responsibilities, and other basic knowledge regarding ALCATRAZ;
• Instill self-confidence through mastery of his job.
• Security Code of Ethics and Discipline
• Conduct of regular drill and train the security guard in accordance with the specific plan of their respective client assignments.
• Ensure over-all guard quality performance,
• Develop a sense of team spirit and camaraderie within their respective security detachments.

• Indoctrinate their duties and responsibilities in ALCATRAZ and the community to which they belong.

Regular Trainings/Seminar conducted by ALCATRAZ:

1.) Company Orientation Seminar aims to orient newly hired guards on the basic standards of security, rules and regulations of ALCATRAZ and its various clients, and to further prepare/mold them to be a more disciplined, competent and efficient person to effectively respond to each client’s expectations prior to deployment.

2.) Basic Security Guard Course (BSGC) is conducted for security guard candidates as a requirement for the Security Guard License. The training focuses on various subjects including the History and Philosophy of Security, Professional Conduct, Preservation of the Crime Scene and Evidence, Firearms Familiarization, Unarmed Defense, Radio Communications and other relevant topics/activities.

3.) Marksmanship Training is in line with the company’s desire to further build self-confidence among its security personnel and improve further their proficiency in the use of their issued firearms.

4.) Refresher Security Course is a training course for security guards with the objective of improving customer service and upgrading level of discipline among the participants. It is also aimed at updating them of their security functions as well as enhancing teamwork and cooperation. Topics on legal aspects of security, personnel policies and employee benefits as well as personal discipline and family values, are also included for discussion.

The New Implementing Rules and Regulations of RA5487 dictates that the Retraining Course (RTC) module must be taken after two (2) years from the completion of the BSGC, and is a prerequisite for the renewal of the Security Guard License.

5.) Special Training Course for security is regularly held to provide them with the basic knowledge on how to effectively confront different emergency situations. The following topics are offered to the participants:

1. First Aid and Rescue Techniques
2. Fire Prevention & Control
3. Customer Care and Satisfaction
4. Bomb Threat Handling
5. Supermarket/Retail Security
6. Industrial/Warehouse Security
7. Emergency Preparedness Drill

6.) Supervisory Seminar is a specially designed training module intended for Detachment Commanders and Guards-In-Charge where they learn topics on Basic Security Supervisory Course such as Problem-Solving, and Decision Making, Case Study, Leadership, Physical Security Plan, and First Aid and Rescue.

7.) Management Training enhances their people especially the area supervisors in handling skills especially in terms of motivating, coaching and counseling. Office personnel holding key positions are sent to various seminar-workshops to further hone in their skills in their respective fields of specialization.

8.) In-Service Training Courses are also conducted by ALCATRAZ, and specially formulated and designed to one specific security needs or answer a specific problem of a client. These are conducted either at the request of client or as need arises.

Discipline System

ALCATRAZ employees strictly follow the company’s code of discipline, thereby ensuring high standards of professionalism.

The results of all inspections and evaluation shall be reported immediately to ALCATRAZ management for any reward, corrective and/or disciplinary action that may be required in accordance with the existing SOP in the Discipline System of ALCATRAZ.

A systematic method of corrective/disciplinary action consists mainly of demerits recorded on the security guards 201 file and performance evaluation ratings, fines, oral admonition, written reprimand, suspension from duty, and temporary or permanent relief from assignment, and termination of employment or dismissal from service. All records of offenses/deviations committed by any security guard is automatically recorded in their respective Violation Records, while copies of corrective/disciplinary actions are maintained on each personnel 201 file.

But while the company is consistent in disciplining erring employees, it is also quick in recognizing the guards’ exemplary acts of honesty, alertness, bravery and efficiency through cash incentives and other forms of award/incentive systems and mechanisms. First, is the recognition of Best Guard in the Honor Roll every month as well as the selection by the Screening Committee for the Most Honest, Most Discipline and Most Outstanding Guard. Secondly, the management awards a Letter of Commendation and Letter of Recognition to those guards who have been dutiful in the performance of their jobs and displayed good deeds for their clients and the community as a whole.

Visitations of all guards in their respective posts/ units are regularly made to remind them of the company policies as well as to motivate and counsel them, as the need arises. General meetings, open forum and formation in ranks are also being held periodically within the different detachment units as an effective way of keeping the deployed guards abreast of the prevailing situation and to enhance their efficiency as well as awareness of the different aspects of their job.

Foremost, ALCATRAZ’s main thrust for the past 10 years of its existence has been to ensure retention of existing clientele by providing them with top quality security services to guarantee their full satisfaction while attaining a reasonable yield to maintain its operational viability.

When uncertain conditions affect the business and industrial world, the challenge of providing effective security to a fast-changing environment increase. Meeting this challenge will require a quality-oriented outfit like ALCATRAZ SECURITY AND INVESTIGATION AGENCY, INC. that can react progressively in leadership and training, not only with management, but especially with its personnel.

B. ASSURANCE OF QUALITY SERVICE:
Given the opportunity to handle responsibility for the security and safety of our facilities, the following security measures shall be immediately undertaken before and after guards deployment.

1. Before Actual Employment
a. Preparation of all security guidelines based on security survey
b. Collation of all existing company policies, rules and regulations
including forms to be used covering all security post.
c. Meeting with Security Manager for the approval of recommended security guidelines based on on-site inspection
d. Briefing and orientation (Pre-posting seminar) of guards on their basic duties and responsibilities based on approved General and Special Orders to include all other related subject on POI.
e. Actual orientation of selected Security Officers and SIC'S.
f. Final Rank Formation and Inspection.

2. After Posting
a. Check copy your post by post duties and responsibilities.
b. Conduct follow of survey and recommend of improvement of systems based on actual observation.
c. Regular monitor compliance of all post orders, rules and regulations as set forth by Client.
d. Immediately checks/initiate corrective measures on any/all deviations on instructions and procedures and instructions.
e. Implement following quality assurance system to further insure strict compliance and efficient performance of guards:

• Continuous twenty-four (24) hours inspection of all guards post.
• Automatic corrective measures and imposition of corresponding disciplinary action for all violations and infractions.
• Maintain twenty-four (24) hours ready reserve and reaction force. Assure proper maintenance and handling of all security provided equipments.
• Conduct monthly or periodic guards/officer performance audit (Please see attached Audit Appraisal Form).
• Conduct regular (per shift) rank formation and inspection and briefing of guards prior to and after relieving.
• Implement corrective seminars on erring security personnel. Periodic meeting between Client and Agency representative. Twenty Four (24) hours operation/monitoring.

3. Periodic Training/re-orientation (on-site) of all posted guards shall be conducted based on actual security and safety changing needs of all the Client's facilities.

Salary: P520.00 / 8 hours + benefits

• male graduate of any 4 year course
